“Slave? Who me?” Yes, as an employee and often as a voter or as a member of any minority, you often are. Greed actually makes a slave out of everyone, even the rich, for it is an addiction that cuts the full enjoyment of life.

Today we still hear a veiled desire to promote enslaving employees by using many “dog whistle” terms, terms that promote hate, bigotry, insensitivity and greed. Increasingly employees are referred to using terms that actually mean “slave labor”. We hear these terms against everyone with more pigment in their skin than another group. We hear see them used against workers in the signs that read “the customer is always right” (in any trade situation either trading partner can be wrong). We hear such terms used against women in the praise for “motherhood” without mentioning “fatherhood”, which is a thin cover for “a woman’s place is in the home”.

Veiled oppression, the desire to enslave, is heard also in how we do not speak of employees as trading partners. We hear this repression again, when when some are calling workers “associates”, yet denying them the right to organize as any other trading partners do on a regular basis.

Our society is rife with the desire of the greedy to elevate themselves with all kinds of false claims in order to enslave others. They use the insanity of prejudice, the ranking of schools of higher learning, and the division of lesser paid classes to achieve their aims.

Those greedy at the top sell their greedy system of control over the economy and the government as a good thing. Their receptive audience consists of the politically illiterate steeped in learned helplessness and burdened the poor self images derived from such helplessness. They encase their poisonous package of control in the hope dope message that those with less can get ahead by hard work alone. This “work ethic” is yet another “dog whistle” term used to keep financial control, through a very rigged economic game, in place.

Here is how you will hear the greedy controllers of the rigged economic system, and it’s lackeys, (who want an employee or voter to be their slave), present their bad deal to voters and employees:

(First their presentation to voters.)

“What will you have today dear political customer? Let’s see, we have greed and we have greed light, and we highly recommend either the greed or classic greed rather than the light version. Keep working hard while we build our business all by ourselves without any help from you. Oh, and by the way, the new greed light is greed, and the greed is real “free trade”.”

(And now their presentation to employees.)

“Out of the generosity of our hearts we will call you family, and you know of course that family doesn’t need a union, only real trading partners get to organize to increase their profit. Hey, don’t worry your little heads about it, we will “take care of you”. Have you seen our catastrophic health care plan? Oh yes, we give you that for free! Now off to your chores chillens, and don’t complain, we have microphones in the restrooms and we check what you say online, and by the way we will change your hours around as we see fit. Also don’t forget that you, yes you, can be a manager, someone so much more important that hourly wage earners! Yes, you too can be salaried! You will get to work hard in our growing team of hard working managers. You will get to show your work ethic even more so as a manager, we will even give you a free phone for us to call you.”

Now we can see plainly that this political game is more than rigged, it is insidious, and ultimately insane. A work ethic that gives you no time for your children and family is hardly a virtue, it is an abuse. We always have to be aware that greed ultimately makes a slave out of everyone, for if you oppress others you repress your ability to enjoy life. Why? Because you can’t fully enjoy your heaven next to anyone else’s hell.

Now a side note:

Bernie Sanders may not win the nomination of the Democratic Party but his revolution cannot be allowed to die. Hopefully, if Hillary wins she will start to feel the BERN herself and get rid of her big money backers, and make Bernie her V.P. I am sure he would be gracious enough to allow her the same privilege if he wins.

Let’s begin the shift back to the saner populist progressive middle ground. The far right isn’t right and selling “greed light” only cedes the victory to “greed classic”, which then will plummet further into “greed insane”.

Remember, when unfair trade is sold as free trade, it’s not at all “the real thing”, even if you share it with the whole world and sing cheerfully over all the mainstream media channels promoting it.

Regarding free trade: the real thing doesn’t make you a slave.

What We Do

We all sing in our souls things too beautiful for our minds to conceive,
And then forget our songs as we forget our dreams,
And say of the world “how dull”.

When the world turns dark and the skies cold,
And you feel alone in your soul,
Be the warmth and the light for someone else stranded in their world.
Make a bridge where there seems only sky, a road where mountains of impossibilities rise,
And you will bring a world of many isolated loves together,
In a paradise no one ever imagined.

To all my friends, and to those who feel I am their enemy:

I sincerely from the bottom of my heart, desire that you find joy and love today,
A sunshine of human warmth surrounding you, embracing your heart with healing and hope.
I hope today you find your dreams coming true and letting you fly without wings and be blessed without effort,
Until love lifting you, is like a song whispered to your heart with your every breath.

A man standing alone,

True to himself,

True to you,

A measure of the hope,

That lifts us from the insanity of greed,

To a love both practical and inspiring.

A man that lights the lights of those

Whose hearts light the world.

And they say he cannot win.

I say,

How can he lose?

Darkness to Light

Teaching, spiritual, the self, guru, teacher, student
Primal Therapy, Arthur Janov, France Janov, Bruce Wilson, Peter G. Prontzos
Destiny sings to us it is the light that lights other lights.

The darkness of the soul is found in the helplessness of the heart, and conquering the darkness is found in feeling the feelings once touched by the poison of such helplessness.

Answering back against our darkness requires that we communicate in empowering ways that allow us to feel what was once impossible due to helplessness. Unlearning our helplessness brings light to our darkness, and when we have removed this plank in our eye we can see that the plank in our own is the same as the splinter in the eye of another. Then we can see clearly to communicate in ways that help to remove many splinters and set hearts free.

It seems to me that what is missing in human communication is the understanding that what is empowering in real ways unlearns helplessness around our real needs. This unlearning in connection to objectivity, empathy and creativity, give us the virtues that will enable the better survival of the human race: Truth, Goodness, and Art.

There is hope for humanity, but the journey is from reliving our needs and feelings connected to helplessness, a journey through our darkness toward the light of human honesty, compassion and creative appreciation of life.

There is no progress without such communication that unlearns our human helplessness, and there is no progressive movement or progressive minds without it.

Our choice is plain to us if our hearts are connected to this process: promote healing over punishment, and real need over greed.

The core of the human problem is a common sickness of helplessness that distorts our communications from peace and creative solutions to war and greed.

We must cry out from our darkness, and change the darkness into light.

There is no healing in violence and no peace in the arms of greed.

Communicate with love, and we will rise from our darkness to a better dawn.

Yet poetic words will not save us, we must understand The Primal Mind.

The guides to our better future are Bruce Wilson and Peter G. Prontzos, disciples of Arthur Janov, and leaders of a primal revolution.

Darkness is defeated by empowering messages, the use of empowering needs meeting perspectives and hope. The prophets of real hope are those that can brave the feelings of helplessness, defeat it, and rise from darkness to the light. They are messengers of real virtue and love. Yet, we cannot depend upon them, they are but the lights that light other lights, and until we light the light within ourselves we can never defeat the darkness of the need for punishment and greed.

Do not look for the hero to come. Look within, you are that one.

Answering Back to Greed Loving Conservatives

Let us give a loud and strong answer back to the greed that has infiltrated our politics in so many nations. Greed is not good, and government can help to diminish it while increasing the welfare of everyone in society.

Have you ever noticed the arguments by conservatives, who seem to worship greed, against any attempt to make the money game in a nation more “fair”?

First of all they attack the various notion of fairness, yet if all are not nourished and fed that level of unfairness harms society and harms the middle class.

Then they refer to using government to increase the ability of the money game to have more fairness to encourage more invested players, as theft from those whose whose concept of freedom is the ability to use their power to diminish the opportunities of others by keeping them powerless and unable to organize (which democratic government is based upon), and fail to call such abuse as “theft”.

Then they wail that free enterprise is threatened by increasing the opportunities of the masses and an assault against their freedom which is in fact the ability to enslave others and organize them in a way that gives them the greater benefit.

Then they point out that when things were first manufactured they were expensive and required very wealthy people to buy them to bring down the cost and benefit the whole of society, neglecting the fact that government can itself invest in such products, create more jobs and get the new technology out faster.

Then the say that taxes won’t work anyway because the wealthy will just find a way around paying them. Really? Is that why they spend so much money on politics just to stop the higher taxes on themselves?

Then they claim that if taxes they will run to some less industrially advanced nation and take jobs away neglecting to mention that the full talents and variety of skills they will need cannot be found there.

Then on top of all of that they say that such a rise in opportunities for the working class is just a pipe dream while neglecting the fact that it has worked successfully and to the benefit of people and the planet in some countries already.

Often they complain that real democracy and freedom must depend upon down sizing the government which is more the organization of individuals and say it is full of bureaucracy and waste while neglecting the bureaucracy and waste of their own large corporations with their lavish rewards of those at the top and their enriching of those wealthy enough to invest in them. Also claiming that anyone can be an “investor” while neglecting to mention that votes in a corporation are “one share one vote” and that small “investors” will have not much say.

They praise the profit motive as “creative” while neglecting to see that the invention of a thousand varieties of soap is hardly creative and far less a source of stable jobs, and that a profit motive is often at the expense of the better lives of it’s workers and at times against the very welfare of all life on the planet.

Such conservatives hide behind religion and twist it to their warped view of freedom and democracy and have even published books and papers praising greed (which many religions see as evil) as the practical path to prosperity. Actually the profit motive when tested in studies of human behavior is often counter productive to quality and efficiency in producing anything useful and a killer of creativity which when they find it they merely feed off of it and cut it’s promise short.

Democratic Socialism has been proven to work and as more people wake up to this the more we find that people are waking up together. This is evident in Bernie Sanders campaign where across party lines Bernie is gaining more and more support.

All I have to say to greedy whiners who don’t want to see real care for all the children in a nation, and real investment in them, and who issue veiled threats and play on fear as if their way is destiny: “NUTS”. Which is what one brave Allied General at the Battle of the Bulge said to the Nazis when they issued similar threats.

Greed is not a virtue, it is not necessary to human prosperity, it is not a necessary evil, and greed based incentives don’t promote creativity. Greed doesn’t help to create better lives or help democracy or a growing middle class, nor does greed help with upward mobility. Furthermore greed is not looked upon favorably by any major religion. There is no up side to greed, and democratic socialism not only works and is working, but it helps to create a mentally healthier and better educated society than greed ever could.

Feel the Bern,

David “Mitch” Sotelo
