Sing a song of greater love, march into freedom’s light.
Slowly a song of greater love rises, with hope that cannot die. A song of freedom’s light.
When I look to the skies and think of the beautiful fragile insignificant earth that I call home, I think of losing the opportunity to pass it on to my grandchildren and their grandchildren and sorrow overwhelms me.
Will the communication age lift us and save us from ourselves? A song sings in my heart as I hear the music from around the world, rising into the skies, echoing around the world, and I feel the preciousness of this earth and all its creatures, and see in my heart the wonder of a baby’s smile.
Tired I rise, in pain I struggle, sad I struggle on, I hear Celtic war songs, and like a warrior for life I join my voice with those who believe, who know they would rather die trying than die lying to themselves. I hear the people who also sing the song in my heart back to me, and I wonder at all their talents as we march to war against the approach of ruin and the oppression of greed.
There in the trenches prepared to rise, I take my place at the sides of my friends, those that hear the music of a beautiful world and will not let it die, those who hear the cries of the world, and shed a tear, even for those who may not “be one of us”, one of our nation’s own.
I see a torch held high by a gracious lady,
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
I see a door opening in a blue sky of hope, and a light shining brighter than all the ignorance and greed of our hurting humanity. I hear a voice calling us up higher calling all the world as one, one family, one humanity, one common heart of liberty and kindness.
All around I feel a music I can almost hear and my heart soars, as the tears in my eyes fall, my small views overcome by its loving majesty.
Listen, listen to the rise of a more progressive time, its message is in your heart. Let your mind be enlightened with the beauty of your heart, and the caring that is the life of your soul.
Falling now from the skies into a world of strife and war, I hear a voice from my local County Democrats: “Your Vote is Your Voice”, and I feel my eyes steeling, set on the prize, unwavering in commitment, remembering the words of Martin Luther King Jr. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.”
I see in this troubled world the rise of a new day, born of the small efforts of many good hearts, hearts that allow freedom to sing its eternal song of love and hope, and liberation from hate fear.
The darkness is fading, my family, there is nothing more powerful than love, and no greater blessing than the freedom that it brings.
The time grows short to voice your love, to sing your song of freedom and the equality of all humanity.
Here in Collin County TX we are ready and we are marching forward and I could only wish that all of Texas and all our great Nation could hear our hearts and strive with us, and Democrats and Progressives from everywhere could help make history in Collin County.
Join us, look to the stars with hope and not despair, rise up and be heard.
We only live one brief moment in time, let’s make a better world, for everyone, and let our hearts grow to embrace this troubled world with hope.
